i-Kronik comes from excellent reggae music pedigree, with its roots sprouting from the much decorated Gumption Band which was primarily a backing band touring consistently with top reggae acts such as Beres Hammond, Freddie McGregor, Maxi Priest, Diana King, Marcia Griffiths, Michael Rose, Tony Rebel, Queen Ifrica, Lutan Fyah, Chuck Fender, I-Wayne and many others worldwide from the 90’s forward.
The Gumption unit realized that they too had a message to share with the world and to do that they decided to shift focus from being a backing band to being a performing band….thus the birth of i-Kronik.

i-Kronik took on the competitive West Coast reggae scene and was soon able to distinguish itself from the pack through memorable performances, a unique sound and a discipline that keeps promoters coming back. i-Kronik reflects the roots and ideals of reggae music but punctuates its style and delivery with an updated swagger that allows for a bridging of the gaps between roots reggae, dub, singjay and dancehall.

Peter Wardle of Kings Music International Booking Agency had this to say, “In 2012 Jamaican Reggae Band i-Kronik hit North America fast and hard just as Hurricane Sandy did the East coast October 2012, Their music blew down all superficial facades with the depth of their Musical arrangements, The masses enjoyed their sets at Sierra Nevada World Music Fest and Reggae on the River they have proven to be an hard act to follow.”
