Third-generation reggae royalty Daniel Bambaata Marley is the grandson of Bob Marley and the son of Ziggy Marley. Born in 1989, Daniel Bambaata Robert Nesta Marley grew up in the thick of reggae greatness and culture. From the time he was a toddler, he was accustomed to living out most of his days on a tour bus, continually spanning the globe with his family; he first appeared in front of a live audience at the age of five with Ziggy Marley and the Melody Makers. As he grew, he discovered an affinity for the drums and eventually for writing songs that are rooted in reggae, but often bring in other styles to express the social and personal concerns in his lyrics. Along the way he took the stage name Daniel Bambaata. He is currently working on his first full-length album, but already has recorded a solo song, “Live It Inna Fear” (produced by Damian Marley), and another song with his cousin Jo Mersa Marley, “My Girl.” He also performed on his father Ziggy Marley’s 2011 album “Wild and Free.”
