Chronixx, one of the leading young Jamaican artists in the new Reggae Revival Movement is on the move in 2013. Chronixx backed by his band, the Zinc Fence Redemption Band completed a 2nd successful tour in Europe this year and is now just wrapping up a well received East Coast US debut tour with 8 stops along the way from Florida to Boston. I caught Chronixx and the Zinc Fence Band at their 9/14 Philadelphia show also featuring Kelissa an upcoming Jamaican songstress to watch out for.

Having missed Chronixx when I was at Rebel Salute in 2012, this was my first time to see his live performance which occurred at Big Yard, an outdoor stage in the midst of several automobile recycling yards. This has to be one of the most unusual places that I’ve encountered recently for a Reggae show. It worked! It was a beautiful night with clear skies, cool temps and the smooth sounds of Reggae from his already impressive song catalog. At age 20, Chronixx is clearly leading the way with his spiritual and uplifting songs that brought the Philly crowd together for a awe-inspiring night of Reggae Music.

Island Stage is honored to share the Chronixx Philly show with you! Give thanks to Empress K! Please enjoy the Slide Show!
